Running the software

Make sure you are connected to the internet before you run the software for the first time. Data files must be retrieved from the master WebRPG servers when you are running WebRPG Online, so you will need to be online when you first use it. There is an off-line feature that will allow you to work without being connected to the internet, but initially make sure you run the software while connected.

The software will check to see if updated game software is available and if so it will download it to your system automatically. Once you have installed WebRPG Online, it will continue to update itself without you needing to go through the hassle of downloading and installing anything. After the updating, you will be presented with a login screen at which you can enter any user id you desire (as long as its not already in use). We do not charge for accounts and therefore we do not store them either. Your username is only yours as long as you're on-line.

Double click the WEBRPG.BAT batch file to start the application. If you get a "bad command of filename" error, read the README file or try running the WEBRPG1.BAT which uses the older Java 1 runtime (not recommended but supported).

Double click on the WEBRPG/b> application file to start. If this doesn't work you may want to force the association of .class files to the MRJ programm.

( and others )

Most systems will will startup the WebRPG Online java application if you type the following command:

java WEBRPG.class

If this doesn't work, try "jre WEBRPG.class". If that still doesn't work try both these options without the ".class" extention.
